Mel,
Remind me, have you had fusion? I'm trying to figure out my golf future. Even though I'm not supposed to i swung a 1 iron in the apartment today at quarter speed. It felt okay (if not a little strange) and I sure as h--ll wasn't picking my head up. :)
What's the deal? Any thoughts?

Sorry to invade but I couldn't resist. I love that game. How long after surgery did your Neuro say it would be before you play golf? I am curious and hopeful that maybe, just maybe they will figure out what is wrong with me and fix it. Then look out because I have learned to slow down from all this which means just one stroke at a time which means kicking butt on the golf course. :D
Hope you can play again soon!

Hi Charlotte,
Okay that makes three of us so far that play. My guy was pretty adamant about my not playing for another month or so. I'm going to hit the range beginning of May and see how it feels. I'll probably just go out with a couple of wedges to start - not that my short game needs any work mind you. ;) I think a may at least go putt a little this weekend.
I agree with your assesment about slowing down. I noticed that my quarter speed practice swings were much more deliberate than they used to be. I'm hoping for a ratio of about 6 strokes for every disk removed. That is, strokes saved.
I'll keep you posted. Any other golfers out there??

Don't look at me! It was when you said "hit the range" that I recognized my game. I'm best at divots, but that type of stroke sends tingling all the way up my right arm- like a reverse radicular pain. Maybe I need my arms shortened so the club will clear the ground?

Might it not be easier to get shorter clubs than shorter arms? :)
Can you hit without getting that zap? Are you anywhere near Golden Ocala? Nice course.

Hi Bruce,
I've never had my own clubs (don't ya know I'm saving money, just like with the riding helmet? :p). Actually, I almost never play; just maybe once a year or two, and I haven't played in over a decade now. I just always wondered how all the golf pros, who all have back and neck problems, handle it?
Can I swing without the zap? Well, to tell the truth, if I didn't swoop down and bend my knees as the club is heading for the ball (wanna make sure I don't miss it), maybe I wouldn't gouge out the course! So at that rate, it wouldn't matter how long my arms or clubs were.
Gee, Bruce, I guess I just have to admit I have lousy technique in any number of things. :( That sounds pretty pitiful, doesn't it? What a loser I am! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/hammer.gif

PS. I'm not a failure at everything; I've been married 26 years, and that has to count for something. ;)

Oh,
PPS. I'm not that close to Ocala (who is? :p) But nobody would want me on a really nice course, if you get my drift.
