Hello Friends,
I am alil over one week post op. How long until I can do the laundry etc? Man, I am bored to death. I am still sore between my shoulder blades! And still have some trouble sleeping in my bed even with tons of pillows! My neice is starting baseball and would love to go watch her. Of course I am not driving! :) Maybe I should wait until first appt at DR May 13th. I knwo they said I could ride in a car in two weeks which will be next Tuesday.
My incision looks good, stiched the inside and glued the outside with a few steri strips on top. I have a steri pad over my incision and that durn tape makes me sore and red from it. How long b4 you felt pain free? Just scared about returning to work this fall at school and ending up this way again!
Thanks for letting me ramble!!!!
Also, Cliff how ya doin bud? Hope yo are getting alond great!
Lori ;)

Hey Lori,
You just take it easy, I'm sure you can drive in a car as a passenger. Just be sure to keep on a collar and maybe put a pillow small behind the space of your neck and the seat. Just be comfy. You can sit too, at that game, for as long as you are comfortable. If you aren't comfortable, don't do it.
Laundry, well I agree with Joanne, just shouldn't be doing the bending thing I don't think. Maybe have someone help you sort... just try a do a little more each day. But you remember all those posts ... baby steps. A little a day. But I do think you can try to do something now, two weeks out. Next week will be better yet.

Hello Lori,

I hope all is going well with you.

I chucked over you relating that they told you two weeks for a car ride. Since I have been home I have riden in a car about six times & friday I drove out to the local farm/feed store by myself. The first few rides it took a little time to recover from, nothing serious, just an hour or two in my chair. Now I feel no ill effects from riding. (I think some of the inital aches was from holding myself so stiff, fighting the pot holes & ect...
Now I ride loose & relaxed)

my steri-strips are starting to peel at the edges & all looks good. Just my skin itiches where it comes in contact with the collar.

As long as I don't over do it i seem to be relitivly pain free. Although I have been on oxycontin every 12 hours till this AM, when I took the last one. I hope that the tylenol does the job from here on out. (I have roxecit if needed, but I don't like the side effects.)

Cheers Lori & wishing you good luck & a speedy recovery.

Cliff
