Hi everyone,
Well, Tuesday's the big day for me; single level fusion with donor bone and plating. Kiddy stuff, right? I'm pretty nervous so I hope you'll all keep your fingers crossed for me. I'll take all the prayers and well wishes I can get. ;)
I want to thank all you guys who've posted your tales to help us newbies along. I was clueless about what to really expect from this surgery, and reading about your experiences has helped me prepare ahead of time for when I get home. I now have a 'Harpo' horn, a "Yes", "No", "I don't know" notepad, lots of pillows and my recliner at the ready. :) Oh yeah, and the button front shirts I never would have thought about had I not read this board. Now, it's up to my family to let me recuperate when the time comes.
Hopefully, I'll be checking in again soon to boast about another success story. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions then, too. Take care and be well. Good luck to you all!

Lisa,
I had my surgery on the 22 of April, and am starting to feel like my old self, that is recovering nicly from the surgery.
Be prepaired, but don't worry. Take your time & take it easy. Be sure to have a few popsicules in the frezzer when you get home.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, here or with your doctor & the nurses. Knowledge is power!
I will be looking forward to your reports.
Good luck!!
Cheers

Lisa,
Good luck with the surgery; I will be keeping you and your surgeon in my thoughts tomorrow as you undertake this new adventure. Stay "up", roll with the punches (but you can only use the log roll), and you will be alright! Hope to hear from you in a day or two.... ok, or three! :) Just don't take too long, or we'll all worry!

Best of luck Lisa. I am in the same boat and I know how you feel. As long as you stay positive your recovery will go by faster. Best wishes.
