Hello to All,

AWWWWW!!!! Finally some good (or not so bad) news. I saw my ortho doc yesterday, and all my fusions have been accomplished :)

I do have residual spinal stenosis at C5-6 related to a ridge of osteophytes that is present. Ortho said it is not surgery worthy now!! THANK YOU THANK YOU.

But....after cervical fusions, who doesn't get stenosis?? I have read almost everyone that goes thru this develops bone spurs due to the healing of the bony process and overgrowth.

Can any of ya'll tell me your experience with the osteophytes, symptoms, pain, etc.
Ortho said my headaches and neck pain may be due to them and may not. Thanks...

Ginny...I do alot of my shopping at Super Wal-Mart and Target in Mobile there, and also go to the movies on Schillinger Rd. Are you over that way? Thanks neighbor!!

Vicki

Vicki,
I have spinal central stenosis caused by bone spurs. I have not had surgery yet, I will find out on June 16th when my surgery date will be.

My pain started 3 yrs ago, it started with pain in my left shoulder, right in the joint. There was also weakness in both arms. It hadn't progressed much until about 6 months ago. I've also had migraines/headaches for the past 5 yrs. Now I have the pain in my left arm, shoulder almost constantly. Pain in right shoulder starting. Some pain and weakness in neck. Upper and mid back weakness and tingling. And just started noticing some left hip pain. BTW, my stenosis is at C4-C5.

Hope this helps, if you have questions, ask away!!
