If you have a prescription for migrane medication & it doesn't contain asprin I think it's ok to take before surgery. But I'm not a doctor, I would call your doctor or surgeon & ask them. I take Imitrex for my migranes & I had to take 3 of them 2 days before my est. The docs had warned me against taking any asprin 5 days prior to the est but not my migrane meds, I seemed to have faired all right, but call your doc just the same, an est is a whole lot different than surgery. Hi,
I am wondering the same thing as have surgery in a few weeks. I know aspirin is a no no, but I presume that codiene and most other meds are ok. I am seeing my neuro Monday and will ask and let you know.

My NS gave me a long list of meds not to take prior to surgery. I think I would definitely check it out before taking anything. Better safe than sorry.
