Hi Ladies,

I wanted to let you know that you are all going to be in our thoughts & prayers!!

I would like to re-post a "Prayer" which my husband found for me a couple of days before my surgery....
May it help you as it did me!!

A PRAYER FOR THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY!!

O Lord, I know that I had better do my praying now.
In the morning they will sedate me & tranquilize me & anasthetize me & whisk me away in a fog.
I will see faces & hear voices but they will blend &
merge into a haze.
So I pray.

I pray for the surgeon whose skill is so vital.
I pray for the nurses whose help is so important.
I pray for the anasthetist & all the support staff.
I know You work with & through all of them.
I pray for my loved ones who are anxious & who feel so helpless waiting.....

I pray for me.
I confess that I am anxious. Surely it would be unnatural not to feel a knot of apprehension deep inside. I want to be well & strong again. I know such things cannot be guaranteed, but I know You understand my wanting & You care.
So~ be with me even though I will be too far out of it to pray. Be with the Dr's. & nurses even though they will be too busy to pray. Now let me rest.
Somewhere the Psalmist said of You, "He gives His loved ones sleep." Thank you God, & I'll say "Goodnight" instead of Amen.

May you find some comfort in this prayer.

Stay Blessed.
Until later,
Catherine

Catherine....with a C, :)

Thank you for your kind thoughts. The prayer is beautiful...I will print it and read it over & over tomorrow.

Please focus all your positive thoughts and energy to our other two ladies tomorrow. My surgery will be Wed. and then the prayers can be for me. (please, please, please) :)

Thank you again!

Don't forget to tell the surgeon: MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE! :)

Everything will work out for the best. Think of soft foods and soft pillows.

LOL!!!

the carpenter's rule of thumb!!! i love it!
can you tell i'm married to a weekend warrior???

reminds me of the episode on ER where that Romano surgeon was finally having his injured arm removed and he had someone write on his other arm "not this one you jerk"...

somehow i don't think he should have "talked" to the guy with the scalpel in his hand quite so nastily... it just might slip and cut a tad lower! LOL!

hugs

Thank you Catherine. That was a beautiful prayer. I printed it and I'm taking it with me tomorrow.

Suzie and Wilba, I'll be thinking of you (if I'm able...lol) Hopefully we'll all come out on the other side in much better shape than we're in now :)We're very lucky that we have each other to lean on and have the support of this wonderful group. It really helps...a lot.

Nikki, if you're reading this, please make sure your mother knows our thoughts and prayers are with her, and you.

Suzie, the race is on. I know you might stay an extra day in the hospital, but don't put it past me to do the same thing. If I'm not up to coming home, I'm not coming home. I need someone to take care of me and I can't put that on my 15 year old daughter. So we'll see how it goes. Who knows, we might wake up and feel just fine. That's what I'm hoping for.

OK, this is it for me. Surgery is in less than 11 hours so I should at least try to get some sleep, pack a bag or something...I dunno. Maybe I'll just pace a little more...lol I think I need to put a little rum in my coke!

I'll post again when I'm able.

bye.....(for now)
