I had surgery on C5-C6 in Feb. I woke up this morning with a wierd feeling. I feel like I am leaning to the left. It feels strange when I am walking. I am not dizzy, but I don't feel right either. I don't know if this could be related to my neck problems? I am going to see my NS tomorrow, but wanted to see if anyone ever felt like this.

I've had the feeling before but in my hip area. Basically, I was out of place & my hips were turned to the right~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~which I felt I was being lead to the right, just like you are feeling like you are leaning to the left. Very weird feeling. Cat

Can you give us an idea of any meds you are still taking? I did feel slightly off a couple of months after my surgery due to the pain killers I was still taking, but we'll be interested to know what your doc says.

I have never taken any painkillers. Not before or after my surgery. I am much better at dealing with pain than the feeling you get when you take painkillers. I went to my NS today. He said that the level above my surgery C4-C5 on the MRI shows something abnormal. It does not clearly show what it is, so he wants me to have a Myelogram. I have talked to my two brothers who also have had cervical surgeries. I have decided not to have the myelogram. I am afraid of the dye, I am allergic to shellfish. I don't know what to do!!!!!!!! My NS doesn't want to guess what it is on the MRI. I have four levels of herniation in my neck. One level was just about the biggest my surgeon has seen. I did not have any pain on my right side ever until after my surgery. He says the abnormality is showing on the right. I really could use some advice. I have panic disorder and I really am not up to this right now. My dad was just diagnosed with cancer and my mom is having testing to see if she is having TIA's. They live with me and I take care of them. Sorry to go on, but I really could use some input right about now! Thank you!

Sroman,
Sounds like you have a full plate and that it could get fuller with caring for your parents. Talk to the NS about the dye. There must be other people who are sensitive to the dye. In this day and age there has to be another way or a way to be ready if you have a reaction. Take the small steps and don't look at the whole picture because until you have answers there isn't a complete picture. Usually the whole picture we creat for ourselves is much worth than it turns out to be.
Helping hugs and wishing you comfort,
Carla
