Well, as most of you know, 5 weeks after my surgery we were rear ended horribly involving my entire family. The liitle boys are fine thank goodness, the older boy is on the mend. All that is wonderful. Me, on the other hand........I am afraid to say this has created me some trouble. I certainly didnt need a car crash to complicate a W/C case. Now things become really interesting. My d/h went for an MRI on Friday. Results are definately not good. He has a bulging disk at L3/4, a ruptured disk with fragment at L4/5 and a bulge at L5-S1. He works for the railroad and is only 20 away from going into engine service which has been his entire career goal. Having to have any type of surgery and be off work for any length of time will interfere with that and put him back on the bottom of a long long waiting list. He is already a class 2 engineer and works as a conductor and has wanted his class 1 liscence for so long. Amazing how one moment in time where someone isnt paying attention can change or possibly change the whole course of another persons life. Tough guy like he is, he is back on his train and working as he wont let the family go hungry, but me as a wife has to be concerned for his comfort and health while on the job. This could very well mark the end of a very very good paying career and also cause the loss to my husband of a career he absolutely LOVES. We are praying that we can deal with a good part of his injuries by therapy and minimally invasive treatment. We need all the prayers we can get. This has definatly not been a banner year for us so far. Does it get any easier???

Lisa

P.S. Just got off the phone with my hubby, he wanted the number to NS office..........he is going to INSIST that I have another MRI immediately because I am not responding to the meds or the supersonic tens unit. Like they will listen to him LOL.....

Lisa... I'm so sorry to hear about your terrible accident. I'm glad the kiddies are ok, but your hubby's life is suddenly turned upside-down! How awful for you. Maybe his injury won't be as bad as yours and with therapy he will do just fine... Keep your heads up and I will keep you all in my prayers! Jackie

Lisa,

If I meet you on the street, please just tell me to move to the other side! Lord your snake bit.
I'm glad your little one's are doing ok now but you and your husband have a few concerns ahead.

How is Tom working out for you? I was wondering, I've only been able to talk to him the first day I called to see if he would handle my case.Elizabeth said he'd call me today but I haven't heard from him. It's not a big deal I was just wondering if you have the same problem?

Please try and take care of yourself!!

Firefighter.........Tom is a great guy. He has more to do than a one armed paper hanger I think. He is going to also be handling the P/I case against Cox Cable for us.....only makes sense as he is on the job already for the w/c. Talk about a tangled web we weave eh?? This P/I case is going to have some big TEETH in it and they will be sad they ever met then Englant's from Arkansas. They shoulda known better than to mess with a Texas transplant (husband) as he is about to unleash 200 lbs of ground pounding Texas H##L upon someone. Not sure who its gonna be first, they "cable guy" or my NS for not returning phone calls. Tom stands to make a killing on my behalf so he tends to see me as the golden goose.....and the fun keeps on coming in LOL. We are really only seeing this as a glitch in the matrix. As we are newlywed to boot, we are seeing this as an immediate test of the sickness/health, better/worse etc etc etc clause in the vows. If this is as bad as it gets then we will survive with faith, love and a compassionate heart. If it gets worse than this.......look out world...ya'll messin with the wrong folks!!!

I did get him some MSM and the knucklehead "forgets" to take it despite my gentle "nagging". I suppose it wouldnt hurt for me to take it either in the long run. Certainly couldnt hurt.

HEY Firefighter by the way........when you see the crossings in Stuttgart blocked you can now think of dear us. He runs that route on his way back from Dexter MO to Pinebluff LOL.

Lisa,

I hope that wasn't your husband I mooned for blocking the road one day... I don't think he got a look at my face, I should be ok. :D

Oh, I think Tom is a very nice guy but all I'm saying is I would think he would have talked to me more than once since July 1st. (the initial consultation)I have written him a letter,I e-mailed him and called asking for his advise and have had no response. I know he's busy, I'm just here with no health Insurance and really need his advise. Well, really I don't need that as of today at 10;30, I have a meeting with the city so I'll handle it myself. I'm just hoping he's taking care of the rest.( but how would I know ). Ok, that's my venting for today.

Stay in touch and please try to avoid anything that can cause you pain! :)

Have a great day,
Harvey

One of the greatest things in life causes pain.....big bummer. Do I see compensation attatched to that for lack of????

We are now armed to the teeth with MSM, condroitin, glucosamine, and coral calcium. We are going to be walking minerals. Wonder if any of that is magnetic enough to set off a metal detector???? Just kidding....

I have always been a believer in natural meds, I am looking for a way to solve this problem without the narcotics. Good luck eh?

Firefighter......no mooning allowed, my hubby is already going deaf from the whistle, lets not make him BLIND too!!!!!!

Lisa,

I don't think they offer anything for that, but you can ask! You did make me laugh when I was reading it, I was thinking...what is she talking about? Then it hit me, cute... I liked that.

Let me know what you think about the MSM. AJ talks about it all the time and I was thinking about trying it.

Ok, I promise not to blind your hubby.... I'll be on my best behavior the next time I see a train coming( that will be every 15 minutes! )

Boy you sure having a run of bad luck. Will say prayer that things will turn around real soon.

Speaking of magnets. I am magnatized. I wear them in shoes, around neck (gold necklace),sit on seat, sleep on matress, use them for everything. But only certain brand name that I find works.Really think I would be alot worse off without. We have never been pulled towards anything nor have we set off detectors at airports
Guess I am like aj when she talks about MSM.Thats me with magnets. That is where name came from.Mine you they don't heal but from my experence they sure do help the pain for lots of things
