Here's another stupid question for you all. My question is there a difference in the type of pains a person experiences & what does it mean?

Example, for the most part I have been experiencing a constant deep rooted painful ache. Now I'm experiencing sharp shooting pains.

What does this mean? Should I be concerned? Am I getting worse?

Thanks for answering my stupid questions again? Cat

Hi Cat
Remember only an unasked question is stupid.
Don't know if I can answer it.I have shooting pain down arm but not all the time, think that is coming from pinched nerve and also have nerve pain that I can't describe.Maybe someone will be along soon that can give you answer

Hi Cat,
The shooting pains usually refer to nerve pain whilst the deep aching is more muscular or disc pain. Do you have berve compression? Nerve pain is shooting, sharp, pins and needles, electric and lancinating. The deep ache I find was from my torn disc and the sharper shooting pains were from the disc pushing on the nerve root.
The whole pain thing is very confusing as most pains cross over, move from one side to another as muscles compensate and is different for everyone. The muscle spasms can begin in one place and travel all over so it's really hard to know whats what. I hope that helped a bit, take care,
Mel
