Just new to the board and want to know if this is a common problem with cervical neck situations. What is a high definitions MRI? I want to know if I had one done already. thanks for any input.

 Hi Kag, Welcome to the boards! Here you'll be able to find people who care and who have been or are going through the same things you are. You know the old saying, "Misery loves company".
In the very beginning, I did have a lot of trouble with dizziness. I also had vision problems, blurry and seeing spots.
AS far as a "high definition MRI", the only thing I can think of is if they use dye.
I hope this helps. Often it helps to go back through previous posts.

HI Kag and Julie...
I want to welcome you both to the boards.... I've been playing hooky, though! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif Yes, misery does love company! And Julie, you are from one fantastic state!
I had some episodes of vertigo... they would come and go pretty fast, but it really worried me while I was driving, wondering if I would suddenly whip the wheel around, trying to compensate for the sudden, strange sensation! And since surgery, I haven't noticed them any more. I haven't been driving much, though, so who knows if I'll get them only then. We'll find out soon enough!

Hi everyone,
Kag,
I do have dizziness and my NS said that discogenic pain can cause this effect. I guess it's because the spinal column is so central and a bad disc can really upset the rest. I also get neck pain, headaches and arm pain and awaiting surgery 23rd July. I also get really shaky and dizzy with headaches if they are bad.
Take care,
Mel

Hi Meg,
I wanted to wish you a speedy recovery. I know that you a scheduled for surgery on the 23rd. I hope all goes well. What type of surgery are you having or should I ask what level or levels? Let us know how things go for you. We all will be pulling for you.

Hi Julie,
I was born and raised in Indiana... spent most of my time near Lake Michigan, yada, yada, yada... So I'm still a Hoosier at heart, as well as my dad and other family members still living there. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif

Hello,
New to site. Did a search on vertigo and neck problems and it took me here. have had neck problems for years. recently I started having vision problems and now am having vertigo and diziness. Is his all related. Had a brain MRI that was negative. Could this all be from my neck. (saw post from Julie) What therapy choices are there?
Thx

Hi and Welcome to the board,
I have terrible problems with vertigo and dizziness but not every day. However, when I am having it, it makes me crazy. I can be sitting down and I feel like I'm going to fall over. Also happens when I turn especially from a standing position.
Regarding eyesight, I know I'm in need of new glasses, but sometimes my vision gets all fuzzy/blurry and doesn't want to clear up. I've worn glasses most of my life and never experienced this until the past year or two, so I'm thinking it may be the old neck. Is this what others experience? My first appt with the Orth Surg isn't until 9/30 so I don't know if they could be connected or not.
Best wishes and welcome again,
Jeanine

I just saw my NS yesterday. I went in with a list of problems still being experienced at 3 months. He has an answer for everything (or not). He said the vision problems wouldn't be related. It sure seems strange to me that so many people experience the same symptoms and my NS always say they aren't related.
I will be so glad when this is all over. I've about had it.
