Hello:
I have been reading these posts for a few weeks and decided to post In 1991 my father sufered a spinal cord injury that doctors said would leave him unable to walk. A combination of a bursitis flare-up due to a fall and spinal stenosis at C5-6 cut off the blood flow to his spine for anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours. He woke unable to move most of his body. Drs thought stroke except there was no mental impairment...when they did figure out what was wrong, the prognosis was not postive...but fast forward 12 years and the man who was not supposed to walk does -- 5+ miles most days.
Anything can happen -- please do not give up hope.
My story can wait for another post. I just wanted to say how happy I was to find a place where I can feel that this is not all in my head (because I know it is all in my neck!) :-)
Nice to meet you,
Terry

Welcome Terry! I know what you mean about it being in your neck. I have had a pain in my neck and my butt! I have had cervical discectomy and several lumbar surgeries. I am having a lot of problems now. I am new to this board too, and will tell you I have never met a finer bunch of people than these people who post here. I feel, for the first time in my life ,that I have a place to talk about my pain where I am being understood. That means a lot when you have been ill for a long time. People who haven't been thru it just don't get it. Again, welcome to this fine group.
Kathy
