I've been "unable" for awhile... anybody have numbness and tingling on the sides of your face? My right ear is tingling and have had what I thought were ear infections off and on. I also have the tingling on the left side, was right prior to surgery. Right shoulder is really hurting, painfull! I have pressure in the right eye, had prior too. Mri of brain ok, pituitary is enlarged, close to optic. Morning is the worst, very stiff and alot of pain. ( c 5-6-7 fusion, L5/s1 discectomy, no fusion, L3-5 disiccated and arthrosis and ddd, annual tear L3) my ankles and knees hurt too! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif Is this normal after a couple back surgeries? Not fusing either, March 2003. What happens if you don't fuse? One part is starting to fuse but the other, nope. I've missed being able to post and ask... :blob:

Cardinal,

It's good to see you back. I still have tingling in my right side and left side. I only had it in the left side before surgery. Also pain in my shoulders and shoulder blades but not my ear or face.

I hope they find the problem soon and get you fixed.

Cardinal,

lol... I know what you mean about being a stranger. I don't post much here anymore. That burning feeling sounds like a pinched nerve but the doctor friday hopefully can tell you.

I haven't made it to Fl yet.... I'm still busy with NS's ,lawyers and dentists! I am shooting for the end of the year now. lol I'm excited for you, your family coming down for a visit... that's great! Tell your dad Happy Birthday for me. Take care and I'll talk to you soon.

Hi Cardinal,
I definitely can sympathize with you. I too have the numbness and tingling (no pain) in the face both pre and post surgery. Nothing has seemed to have improved since the surgery. I too am still having the same neck, shoulder, and arm pain (burning, numbness and tingling). I have no idea what is going on. My NS just says it may take a long time to heal. I have received 2 epidural steroid shots; however, they have not helped and I am not going back for the third one. I am about at my wits end. I am still sleeping (when I can) in a recliner, and you know how much fun that is. Sorry to drop all of this on your post, just had to get it out. It sounds like you can relate. Sorry about your pain and I sure hope you find some relief.

Thanks Julie for sharing! Atleast I know its not just me. I hope the pain doesn't mean we are getting worse? If I knew I couldn't aggravate the situation by doing things I wouldn't worry so much. Every time I wake up with this numbness and tingling I think my back is going to totally deteriate! It's scary, 47, and you wonder what its going to be like 10 yrs from now? Its just not fair, you have all these great ideas and ambitions, then you can't "act" upon them! Ok, no pity party, but just mad right now. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/blob_fire.gif

Hi Cardinal, I also have the numbness and tingling down my left shoulder and arm. I have an awful burning sensation in the shoulder blade area and the elbow. Julie, I have been sleeping in a recliner since May. I wish this all would just go away! :(

I know exactly what you mean. I'm 42 and feel like I'm trapped in a 72 year old body. The numbness is the really scary part right now. It has become a fairly constant thing over the past couple of weeks. My biggest ambition these days is to be able to get those darn cob webs off of the ceiling (lol). Fat chance that my husband or daughter would ever knock them down or even notice them for that matter.

Hope you have a good day!
Julie
