I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago with both of these. They started me on Nuerontin and Darvocet and I could not take the Neurontin because of extreme nausea(with or without food). I am taking voltarin 2x day and darvocet but I have continuous burning in my right hip and leg. So far the Darvocet is not touching the pain.
What can I expect from this disease? My doctor first said I had bursitis(I think they tell you that when they don't really know) then he let someone else look at the xrays and said spondy. My husband has AVN and just had surgery so I can't afford surgery now and wonder if anyone here has been successful on drug therapy? Besides Neurontin, what may work for the inflamed nerves in my hip. I am also in PT but not having any real relief.

hi, i'm a 15 year old girl who plays softball, i was diagnosed with spondylolithis/spondlyosis a little over 3 months ago. I also have somthing called PARS defect. i have many stress fractures in the L5 area one the PARS bone, and there are 2 bulging dics, one of them is between L3-L4 area, and the other is between the L4-L5 area. Right now i am in a brace to heal the fractures i have been in this for a little over 2 motnhs now, i go baco for more ct's and mri's at the end of them month. the doc says i should be in this brace for 3-6 months(this is the alternative to surgery) he then says i will go into physical therapy when i'm out of the brace. so i'm being treated fo that right now, and i have no idea what kind of treatment i will have to do for spondylolithis /
spondlyosis. if there is any information u could give me it would be greatly apprecitated. also u might want to switch to the back problems board... there are several people on thaat board who have this same problem.

thanks-jamie
