I was wondering in anyone has ever heard of a 2 month old baby being diagnosed with scoliosis. My son is 10 weeks old and was just diagnosed with this. We are currently undergoing extensive testing to rule out neuromuscular problems. I have heard that scoliosis can just disappear in infants and that only 1 in 10,000 babies are born with this. His little back is already at a 34 degree angle. Please, if anyone knows anything about this let me know. Thanks.

Don't know anything really about scoliosis, but you might want to check the back board.
I hope everything turns out well for your baby

Go to search on your internet and type in "scoliosis in infants". I just did that and it pulled up a lot of sites. Good luck! Take good care of that sweet boy. Hugs, Pat

Hi Pat,
I have pulled up everything on the internet about scoliosis in infants. I was hoping that I could actually talk to a family that has gone through this. I found a little boy on the internet with it and emailed his parents but didn't hear back, unfortunately his web site hasn't been updated for over 2 years. Thanks for checking for me. My little boy is named Nicholas in case anyone would like to say prayers for him.

Will absolutely say some prayers for Nicholas. Good luck finding support!

I dont know if this could be of help, but ask your doctor about sprengles disease, its a rare disorder, where a shoulder is higher then the other. But if the baby was x-rayed this should have been seen.

Worriedmommy~

I have congenital scoliosis. I'm 45 and only recently discovered that this can be congenital. Try using those terms in your search.

I will keep your son in prayer. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

We know that Nicholas doesn't have congenital scoliosis. We did x-rays and everything was in in order. They call his scoliosis Idiopathic Infantille Scoliosis, which mean they don't know why. Today we went for MRI of brain, chest and spine. I will know more by the end of this week. Thanks everyone.
