I was wondering if you guys feel at peace ever and when? I go to this Starbucks and sit outside and I am reading a very big book that I like. Sometimes I just sit back and look at the big beautiful trees around me, and I guess the espresso is hitting me, and I feel very peaceful.

When Iam working is when Iam at peace.

When Iam sitting still with to much time on my hands then is when it hits me.

But one thing I like to do is get a lawn chair and go out side in the back yard late late late at night and lay flat on my back and look at the stars and moon in the late late night sky. You know now that is relaxation and sometimes think how litte we humans do know. Just lay there and wonder what was in this same spot that Iam layin in 1000 years ago and just thank the good Lord after he made all these miracle's he still thought about makeing me just a tiny spot in the big big ole world.

You know you would be surprised how relaxing that is to just lay and look at the nites sky. I read a book one time that said if you got at one end of the Milkey Way and you shot a bullit that travled 100,000 MPH it would take it a hunderd years to reach the other end of it. Now that is incrediable to me. The world is a big big place and it was made for us to enjoy not to be worried about things that are made up in our on minds. We have a thinking diease people thats all it is we entirely think to much about ourselfs and not about enjoying our lifes any more. Thank God I myself made it thru this stuff and can see the light at the end of the tunnel and all this suffering worrying about myself was for Zip when I could have been enjoying life I was worried about having a stroke or a heart attack, or I was going crazy, at one time with eyes wide open I was blinded with my on made up fears and now with eyes wide open I can see the cure lies within a persons self and the cure to this whole thing is accepting facts and not myths made up in our on minds.

Life is short, why worry about dieing, you cant stop it, I cant stop it, nobody can stop it, its every man and woman faith thats a fact nobody can control. Your gonna die, Iam gonna die and every living thing is gonna die the only differnce between us and the people that dont have this illness is they dont think about it and we do.

I feared dieing at one time, but I turst in the Lord to take care of me at one time I didnt, I let him handle my worrys and now I just live life and what ever it brings now, I face it head on, sure I still get antsy now and then but so what I have been that way 10,000 times before and Iam still here breathing walking talking just like I was 20 years ago when I had the first attack, you got to accept it is a fear you implanted in your on head, hell how many times you been to the Dr for him to tell you are fine how many test have you had for them to come back negtive, face the facts and not the myths made up by endless worrying and your endless suffering journey is over and you can live life just like the normal man and woman with out thinking about dieing every hour of every day.

Think about that will ya......ZZTexas

Lol, JustABoy!!! You order NON fat milk, but with extra chocolate and whipped cream! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Sounds like an interesting combinations! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/tongue.gif

I think the time when I feel most peaceful is when I am riding my horse up amongst the hills and the forrestry when it's just me and my horse (and those freaking sheep who STARE at me! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/eek.gif )... and you can just hear the wind and the birds and maybe a river if one's close by... ahhh, I think I'm going to do that tomorrow!

I also like when I wake up at around 2am or something and everything's quiet and you're so comfortable and it's soooo peaceful around you... that's great too. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

But then I'm a weird sort of a person!

Rare moments when my ability for abstract thought pays an all too brief visit. Otherwise It's hard for me to concentrate or read/write any one thing for very long... At least while enjoying it, that is.

surfing the web, reading, arts and crafts, listening to music, movies, cooking, shopping and hiking in the woods. i was so stressed out i couldn't concentrate on anything or worrying about pills and keeping doctors' appts. straight so that's why i appreciate being able to do things again. once you go through hell with anxiety and depression and get over it you appreciate simple things in life and come away with a different perspective. you have to turn over all this stress and crap to a higher power because it is just too much for most humans to handle. hope this helps. best wishes. pinkcat p.s. learning to live in the moment, not the past, not the future (excessive worrying) but living in the now even if it's just cooking a meal or something simple.

Very well said. I have the same feelings as you do and have dealt with many of the things you mentioned. When I am busy in activity, work, or sport is when I am living and enjoying myself. It's the times I'm sitting idley bored with nothing to do that fear and worry creep into my head.

I've handled it with running, weight lifting and participating in recreational sports. That helps burn off some of the stress. I've recently had a cold, so I have been set back and the worry and stress has been especially hard to deal with of late. It's funny how a cold can cause you to sit around wondering what might be wrong with you, what disease you have, why you don't have an appetite? It's difficult.

But you are right. Staying busy and giving your worries over to a higher power is a good start. I spend too much time worrying about dying (actually sickness) and too little just living and accepting what I've been blessed with. Thanks for the inspiration.
