I wanted to let you know that I too started suffering from severe mood swings while taking PAXIL. Many of my coworkers began noticing that I was "Angry" all the time. We just marked it up as a side effect I could not help. (I have been on Paxil for 3-4 years because I maxed out on Zoloft). I went to my psych and spoke with him about me quitting smoking. He gave me Welbutrin (sp). Although it did not help me quit smoking, I have continued to take it now for over 1 year IN conjunction with my Paxil. It does nothing to stop my panic attacks but has helped my moods 100%. I am a lot more happy and do not have the mood swings. The other thing I like about it is it allows me to concentrate and stay focused more. You might speak to you Dr. about it. Helped me.

I have been on Paxil CR for about 7 1/2 weeks now. The only side effects that I have really noticed is that I am tired alot more. I dont seem to have to much energy. Other than that I have had no sexual side effects and I have lost 6 pounds since I started on it. I really think that it is bginning to help it just takes along time. Hope this helped.

paxil is just 1 of many antidepressant meds, nothing magic about it, there are many others of the same type as paxil, also many others of different types to paxil, often 2 or 3 of these meds need to be tried before finding 1 that works, (some dont work for some people at all),and whose side effects can be lived with
if it caused anger last time, I would try something else now

I took paxil for a period of 1-1/2 years in my junior through senior years of high school. I remember it making me tired at times, i gained about 30 lbs (but i needed the extra weight) and it got rid of my stomach aches. I felt that Paxil made me less anxious and i was able to perform better throughout my day. Though with my experience, the side effects were minimal compared to the positive aspects of the drug. While being on the medication, I met new people and new friends which was harder for me to do without Paxil. I remember the withdrawls being hard--it seemed like a week long drunkeness (in a bad way). But that of course because i tapered off of Paxil in the way doctors don't suggest--I happened to run out of medication. I as well thought of going back on medication but i've been trying to figure other means, other than medication, to help my situation.
