Hi
I am a 39 year old male with a family history of GAD, PA's, sinusitus, allergic rhinitus, Turette's Syndrome, GERD, etc. I take xanax on an as-needed basis and Prevacid for the GERD. Oh, I also have slight ulnar nerve entrapment to add to my list of ills. I have a pet goose that I have a bad habit of letting sleep with me even though I am highly allergic to feathers, down, hay, etc. Anyway, there's a bit of history about me;-).

Now down to the nitty gritty. I woke up this morning with my sinuses plugged, eyes puffy and completely out of it (I had slept with my goose last night but had'nt taken xanax in 4 days). I went into the kitchen and opened the fridge looking for something to get out for dinner later that evening. My roommate was also in the kitchen. As I'm incoherently babbling to him and trying to speak in whole sentences, I find that I have just gotten out two gallons of milk, a tube of cinnimon rolls and a package of cheese and layed them on the counter. What the HECK did I do this for?? (I ask myself). Am I completely scatterbrained or something?. So I put the items back in the fridge but then I was forgetting words or mispronouncing them, getting words backwards, having what I call "brain misfires", etc and it was starting to scare me and make me angry at the same time. Anxiety has played a lot of cruel tricks on me over the years and this was certainly nothing new but it still scared me because I thought maybe I was getting mad cow disease, alzheimers or something. I could feel the adrenilin rush through me as I panicked at the very thought. I also get very angry, irritable and overly-aggressive (but not violent) for no reason or little things with set me off. It's been this way for about three days now (although I've had this in the past) and sometimes I just feel dazed, spacey, squirrely, in the head. Sort of like if you got wacked in the head by a 2X4 and the little birds were flying around your head like in the cartoons. I'd love to take a xanax for this but that would help at first but only make me more anxious in the long run. My question is, can you people relate to any of these things which I have just mentioned?. How do you handle it?. What are your symptoms?. I am very scared like I am going nuts or something. PLease help me and thank you so much!!.

- Cheers

Apparently, noone else has ever experienced any of these common anxiety symptoms before. Please excuse me for wasting everyone's valuable time with my insignificant little post. I've only been suffering since this morning anyway and I'm actually starting to enjoy it now. I know this is going to be hard to believe but at least on AOL people did'nt just lurk all day - they actually *responded* to posts instead of just reading them. Really!

Thank's (edited for typos)

I am sorry no one has responded to your post. Even I have not been on the computer until now. Had a busy day cuddling my grandchildren.

Most of us have had anxiety feelings of one sort or another. Many have various sensations or problems with anxiety.

My suggestion is to not sleep with your goose since you are allergic to feathers, etc. Allergy reaction can affect not only your eyes, nose, breathing, but many other things.

Best to stay away from things that cause allergy reactions. The symptoms can cause a person to not only be concerend but also to worry. Remember, there is a fine line between "concern" and "worry". When we worry that is when our mind goes bonkers and think of the worst things.

Hope you are feeling better.

Marie

Hi

Thank's for the reply and sorry for "going off" like I did. It's just that it's no fun suffering without anyone to talk to. It's always much more fun to suffer in groups (yeah, right!). Anyway, I won't be sleeping with my goose tonight although I'm sure it will be lonely. My goose always hops on my bed, talks to me, fusses over me and grooms me as if I were another bird. I guess maybe I'll just turn the TV on or something. So have you had any of the symptoms I mentioned in my original post?. Thank's again and I appreciate your help a LOT http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

hey fearful guy, I also suffer from tourettes syndrome and Ocd. It is the hardest thing i have ever gone through. How do you cope? I am 32 years old and scared to death it is completely consuming my life. What can be done about it. I also feel for you, my suggestion would be do not sleep with the goose, allergies make Tourettes worse.

And sinus problems can lead to other respiratory condition also. I'm also fascinated that you have a pet goose as an animal lover I don't allow my dogs to sleep with me but I make them a special sleeping place of their own in the living room as it really sends my sinuses into an uproar. I have had brain fog during my axiety attacks that can last for days, everyone is different you know and react differently to stimulus. Just about everything keeps my anxiety on high, not to mention my hypomania, GERD, asthma, and meurological problems.

I got to ask this. How long have you had your goose? Male or female? Name? While I wrestle with my grandkids you cuddle with a goose, awesome, how many people think of owning a goose for a pet? They make the best house guards! Just a curious hypomaniac!
