Has anyone used lexapro? I tried and had to quit many antidepressents because they either didn't work or I couldn't stand the side effects. I'm now on BuSpar for GAD but am going to quit taking it because of how lousy it makes me feel and I haven't noticed any relief from my anxiety - possibly even more anxiety. I'm running out of meds to take and I'm not real happy with my doctor right now. He was positive that BuSpar would work and I know he won't be happy that I want off it. Xanax works well for me but I don't think that he will let me keep taking it. I'd appreciate any info.

I take Lexapro and like it so far. The only other thing I ever took was Paxil and it made me have an anxiety attack and upset stomach. This time I am taking Lexapro and the Doc also gave me Lorazapam to use in the beginning in case the Lex made me freak out, but it didn't. I was comforted just knowing I had the Loraz andywhere I went, *just in case*. The only thing that is negative so far is that my already weak sex drive is worse. However, when I want to have sex, I can no longer climax. thats a little depressing in it's self

i've been on it for 2.5 months, and everything is great. Had a few side effects first few days (insomnia, ejaculatory delay) but now everything is fine.

My insomnia is getting better though. As long as it helps with the depression, I am sticking with it.
