I know exactly how you feel. I did some research and got the audio tapes from Claire Weekes to listen to in the car. She is wonderful! She explains the panic and anxiety so you can understand it and begin to pass through it. One thing she says that has helped me is not to ignore the symptoms you body throws at you. I usually say to myself..."I don't know why you are creating this feeling, but, ok, I'll go along with it and when you are done you can just leave." I feel as though I have the control.
I also enrolled in a panic disorder clinic. I don't want to take any medication and believel that you can help yourself without prescription drugs. Good luck and check out some books/tapes by Claire Weekes!

feeling a lump in the throat when none is there is common with anxiety, but get doc to check your throat

valium stops it a while by relaxing the muscles, massaging the throat should also help the answer is of course to reduce the anxiety and learn to relax

It isn't necessarily a actual LUMP but you know that feeling you get when you are on the verge of crying?? and you get all choked up?? thats how it feels almost all of the time!

Yeah... not too comfortable is it? Well, you got nothing to worry about. Mine lasted a few weeks, but everyones different... yours might go away sooner. Through the process it might have it's stages where it gets milder, but if it comes back... Just see it as a little discomfort

I get that lump in my throat too, and when you tell the doctor they look at you like you are crazy. I notice it when i am nervous too. I do notice that when i eat the good foods i feel better and eating out gets me more stressed up. This week I have been going through canker sores with my stress and also hemmrhoids and when i eat strictly veggies and fruits i feel much better. Sometimes it gets to be boring because i have diet and exercise diabetes and have to watch the carbs. Today I am extremly stressed out I've been up since 6:30am and now it is 11pm and i get this rush in my ears. I feel really closed in when the night time comes and when i have the windows open in the summer i feel much better. This coming winter i am thinking about getting that seasonal lamp with a special light in it to make one feel better on the gray days. Sometimes even during the sunny weather i like staying in the house, I feel more comfortable in familar surroundings. I am coming off klonopin and I want no part of any more of that stuff, Oh, yeh , you feel great when you are on it and then when you stop and i went cold turkey because it was making my heart race it was awful. I read on one of the other boards it takes 2 months to feel better and i won't even take a piece i am fighting it all the way. When i sit at the computer too long i get burning in my shoulders and neck gets real stressed up betty

klonapin or rivotril is a valium type med or benzo that was originally developed for epilepsy and later also used for anxiety and panic attacks.
used sensibly, and taken only as needed, its very helpful to relax the body and the mind.

many with anxiety or panic attacks are helped by it all over the world, very few anxiety sufferers become addicted to it, most being too sensible.

silly people with addictive type personalities are the ones likely to become addicted to it

However, discontinuation of therapeutic doses triggers withdrawal syndrome in some people. If you don't want to call this "addiction", call it "dependency". In any case, when you decide to stop this medications it's better to taper down little by little.
