Ok, well I have had some of the wierdest symptoms over the past few months, and I would say that a huge portion of them are scary (I guess anxiety related). But, I have been through extreme exhaustion, and the main thing I want to know about is if someone has ever experienced "the floor moving up and down". It feels like the floor is just jerking down and coming back up under me. This only happens really when I walk. I hate it. It's really scary because I have been to the doctor three times since DEC 30th. Got an MRI even, and blood tests. For some reason when I get in the shower, this "dropping" feeling tends to get really bad! It feels like my body is just going to drop to the ground and I will pass out sometimes. I'm 15 years old... My parents won't take me to the doctor again. I have been doing a ton of research and have not found anything like my situation. Will someone please help?
As for my anxiety... to generalize it... I have no Idea what started it but it has been constant the past few months. To generalize the symptoms... I HAVE had every single anxiety symptom I have heard of. I hardly get any sleep. I can't because most of the time a SUDDEN electric shock type feeling literally makes me jump up when I am half asleep, and it is really scary.
I have so much to say... but i'm not going to type all day.
please someone help me reach a conclusion or something.

How long did this infection last? Because the doctors that I have seen were all looking towards something ear related like that.

The last time I felt that way, I was pregnant and didn't know. It was a "falling" feeling and I felt like I was going to pass out. I had a slight infection also, not bad enough to see a doctor though.

to hunter e
i suggest you get some valium or similar and take it daily for a few weeks to see if this stops the problems, if it does then anxiety is likely the cause
remember to breathe deep and slow when anxious, avoid rapid shallow panting and avoid holding your breath

I sure hate to see kids posting about this sort of stuff http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif Be Smart and Leave the anxiety to the adults http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif!
Anyway, your doctor checking your ears sounds like the right direction to me. I have had this sort of problem, and it WAS my inner ear. It stinks, because it in and of itself is what is probably causing you anxiety. Give it some time, and I'll bet it goes away.
Although valium works good for anxiety, good luck getting ANY doctor to prescribe it these days to an adult, let alone a 15 yr old. Seems like all they want to do is the SSRI route- ok, I guess for some, but some dont need or want a maintenance medication. I would say if there are "times" when you feel like yourself and all the symptoms disappear, you can be pretty sure it is anxiety. I still say its your ears.

I dunno.. I would like to think that it is my ears.. it probably is... but whatever is causing my anxiety attacks (which I had no history of as of january), sure makes the anxiety attacks VERY severe. For some reason they ALWAYS happen at night. Not one day have they happened earlier. It's always at about 9:00 or about when I go to bed, and sometimes they like to occur when I am trying to sleep; which I gave up on. Now I just stay up every night watching the t.v. until my body just passes out into sleep without me knowing it. I can't remember when the last time was I got more than 5 hours of sleep... My attacks get longer and longer by the day.
has anyone experienced this really hard pressure on your neck, like it feels like it's just going to fall off? Is this normal for anxiety, or is it related to something else? I have also experienced a lot of pressure on various parts of my head.
I agree that I am too young to be having anxiety like this... and I can't even be thinking of reason why I do. Now I am ALWAYS in apprehension, this can't be healthy for me...
Oh god... this sickens me. The SEVERITY of it every SINGLE DAY.
It's like it's trying to deteriorate me down to nothing. I feel like a weaker person every day.

It is very common for people to have anxiety problems when they do indeed have a physical ailment. Are you getting dizzy? Are your ears ringing? If so, let the doctor treat your ears. I know firsthand how ear problems cause balance problems cause dizziness cause lightheadedness CAUSE anxiety. It is a chain that goes on and on, espcially when you are physically not "well" (youre ok, just not feeling A+). The good thing is that it isnt permanent.
What are your parents saying about this? If you havent told them yet, you should...They might react differently than you think. Maybe talk to a school counselor about this- it might help. Neck Pressure can be just your muscles being tense from all the tension in your body.
You may feel like a weaker person everyday, but you are still trying to cope everyday, and that takes effort and shows courage. Dont get down on yourself and quit wasting your teenage years on this junk- it isnt worth it. I speak from experience http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

Why would you recommend benzodiazepine's to a 15 yr old?
I am gonna be 17, and my heart would beat really fast up to 177, and I seen many doctors and none of them ever tried to presrcibe benzodiazepine's! only SSRI... Zoloft, and Zoloft is only SSRI of its kind, cause it's chemically unrelated to other SSRI's!
Just dont worry that the ground is going high and low, its probably an ear infection! It took mine 2 months to go away, it would come back and go away!
Ask your doctor about Flonase, thats how I got mine treated!
My sinus didnt get better, and it blocked the fulid in my ears to drain from my nose, so it made an infection!

Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about! I have had the floor moving sensations. It is the worst feeling and very hard to describe. They did the blood tests but I didnt end up going for the MRI. They told me I had vertigo and they thought that it came on from a rough boat trip I was on. It actually went away by itself, but it took 2-3 mths. In my case they didnt think it had anything to do with the anxiety. Here I found this on the web, does this sound like how you feel? This is exactly how I felt! IT was really scary to feel like that but it did go away on its own eventually for me. I felt like the floor was rocking back and forth just like a boat floor would. Good luck to you!
Vertigo is a type of dizziness that's characterized by the sensation of spinning. It's sometimes referred to as a hallucination of motion. Imagine what it would feel like to be placed suddenly on a roller coaster that won't stop, and you begin to understand the alarming symptom of vertigo.
A fairly common cause of vertigo is labyrinthitis (explanation below). This type of vertigo may occur after a flu-like illness, severe ear infection, or may have no clear cause. It's usually self-limited, meaning it goes away all by itself. But it may intermittently reappear over weeks to months. Bouts of vertigo are commonly treated with meclizine (Antivert).

Well, the suggestion for valium is two fold I think-
A) Believe it or not, valium can do wonders for inner ear problems- I know from experience. I had inner ear problems and anxiety that resulted from it. Not anxious all the time, but "dizzy" ALL the time. So, it was just not anxiety, and the valium worked great.
B) We all know its track record (for most people, anyway) when it comes to stopping anxiety.
C) SOME not ALL people get dependent on it (valium). ITs not an everyday for 7 years drug. As a matter of fact, SSRI drugs are not supposed to be either- but who forgot to mention that to the doctors?
If your heart was beating at 177, IMHO, your stress level was so high you needed valium of ativan. What is it with these stupid doctors and benzo medications?! Do they get a charge out of seeing people suffer? If it works- USE IT for heavens sake! Sure a pulse rate of 177 is not harmful, it can beat like that for literally weeks at a time. BUt if all that is causing it is stress and anxiety- its BS that you werent given something to calm you down.
and
Hunter, hang in there....You arent alone with this crap- I hope you get control of it before you get older. Seeing a counselor NOW is a small investment you can make in yourself that will literally impact the rest of your life.
