Hi,

I was wondering if anyone Sweats alot when they go outside?
reason I am asking is because I have noticed that it is only when I have to go outside or to work that I start sweating really bad. Just the other day I was at work and was sweating like you would not believe and trimbling.
I am taking prozac for anxiety and depression until I can talk to my doctor about trying something else. What can I do to help myself get better? I hate this. Thank you for any advice you may give in advance.

Antidepressants like Prozac make us more sensitive to the sun. I know that personnally I have a very hard time with heat now and it was never a problem before. Also, antidepressants can lower your blood pressure so if you go outside on a warm day and you do some physical activity it may cause you some problems if you didn't eat or drink enough. I was on Prozac before and I found it was making me agitated. I'm currently on Celexa and I find the side effects minimal (I've been on it before and it helped me). Good luck!

We all have our sweaty triggers... Mine are automated over-the-phone touchtone services. It took me more than a week to get the courage and activate my new credit card.

I live south of Houston, Texas, so I sweat everytime I go outside. But so does everyone else, so I'm not alone. Sometimes it is so humid outside, that we have to wear scuba gear while at the park.

But seriously, I am on some medications and I have been experiencing cotton mouth, and have seemed warmer than usual. Tonight I was in a meeting with people, I spoke for a moment and broke into a sweat. I had control of the AC, and had it down real low for the meeting. When the meeting was over a lady told me, "I'm -freezing-". I am not sure if the meds have anything to do with it, but they all seem to have so many side effects, I'd guess that'd be one of them. Of course, you can ask your doctor. Anyways, sweating is not bad for you, mostly annoying and possibly embarrassing. Our office has been toasty for a week now. I am planning on taking a fan in tomorrow.

I am sure trembling could be a side effect. Sounds like you don't tremble unless you are at work. In this case, sounds like you are real anxious at work. Maybe the meds aren't working well enough for you.

Hope you figure it out. Good luck.

hangten,
you know exactly what I mean! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Others are cold and I am sweating buckets. I also shake alot. Your right I believe it is because I am so anxious around people. I some times think I need to change my thought process in order to get past this. I am still trying to figure all this out. I am still waiting to see when my apointment is going to be with my doctor. thanks for your reply.

Hey Dragon, I just checked out a book from the library called "The Anxiety Book" and sweating was a very common symptom. There was one guy who would sweat so bad he even tried putting deodorant on his forehead. The book's solution was of course all of the meds you already know about and the usual "I'm a good person" self-talk.

You are so appreciative of everyone's comments and it really makes me feel bad that you're having difficulty finding the right meds. In time things will get worked out. In the mean time just carry a hanky with you to wipe your brow, there's always those funny little hand-held fans, carrying a water bottle for a cold drink is always in fashion and lastly, even though you might feel very obvious other people probably don't even notice and even if they did the worst they would think would be "wow, that guy is sweating a lot. he must be hot (or an alcoholic or druggie)". ha, ha. Whatever they would think it would be forgotten as soon as they turned their head away.

Hey, you've gotta explain the name. My guess is it has to be one of two things. Dragon Ball Z combined with The Who's "Pinball Wizard"? or more likely Bruce Lee "The Dragon" Lucille "Ball" and the "Wizard" of Oz trinity? :-)

LindaG,
Thanks so much for the info and the reply. The Anxiety book you checked out, who is it by if I may ask? I will look into reading that.
As far as the nick goes you hit the nail right on the head. Dragonballz is where it came from. My nephew is really into DBZ and got me into it in the process hehe.
Linda, I like your sense of humor! If we have to live with this Anxiety we might as well laugh at it. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Thanks again for your time and your reply
