what ever you do, do not take any kind of acne pills. they can cause severe depression, andger, hatred, dark thoughts, and eventually anxiety. thats what happened to me. although i know it was not the main cause, i know that it triggered it.
i've been haunted by the custody hearing a few years back, where i had to make a choice on whether to live with my mom or my dad. i chose to live with my mom. for as long as i live, i will never forget the sadness i saw in my dad's eyes that day.
after that i was under stress from my grandma and uncle who were very mean to me and my family. all of this kept building up inside of me, and i just kept keeping it in.
then, a year or two later, my doctor put me on some acne pills for my face. this was in fall, and by the time winter came, i was having breathing problems. i thought there was something wrong with me. i began to get very depressed and very angry toward my family. sometime in january 2003, i had a very bad anxiety attack. i was taken to the hospital where my heart and lungs were checked, to see if anything was wrong with them. they were fine and the doctor gave me two pills to help me sleep(and boy they helped).
i stopped taking the pills about two or three months ago. the dark thoughts and depression went away, but i had turned into a hypo. i kept thinking i had certain things wrong with me. i thought i had mad cow disease because every once in a while i'll feel tired and i couldn't understand certain things that people would say.(is this brain fog?)
im still trying to recover from the anxiety and the effects of the pills. so please, never take any acne pills. i don't want this to happen to anyone else. i don't want anyone to go through what im going through.

Was the medication you were on, accutane? I have heard that some people have problems with this drug.

i took accutane for about 3 months from oct to dec. until i started to have panic attacks. though the panic attacks were probably substance induced (and not from the accutane) i doubt that accutane had anything to do with it. Now, i don't have panic attacks, but i do have anxiety symptoms that started in march, after an adverse event with SSRI's(antidepressants) and a week long stint of ativan use (1-3)mgs a day. So i doubt it was the accutane that did it for me. However, there are reports of accutane doing some horrible things for some people, and now Roche labs is required to include an informational sheet each time the drug is perscribed. In rare cases it has caused suicidal episodes and severe depression.
