Sponsor isolated one 07-09-2003, 12:11 AM If you've researched this issue, you know it's not such a black and white question. It seems there were likely other factors in the liver damage reports such as using kava with medication or alcohol and some may have had unknown liver trouble to start with. I stopped using it myself because there are still too many unknowns about this. Kava shouldn't be used daily on a long term basis anyway. In the South Pacific islands where kava originated, there's a condition seen in long term or heavy users where their skin turns yellow. I do doubt the kava is any more bad for your liver than the typical benzo or anitdepressant, so if it is working for you, that's cool. Just as with any chemical, natural or otherwise, caution with use is always good judgement, and I am sure you are exercising that. It's so good to hear you are doing so well.... http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif |
