This may sound strange, but hopefully some of you can relate.
My anxiety and depression started about 18 months ago, ive had a very rocky time emotionally and mentally since then.
There are so many symptoms of depression and anxiety, im sure you know, so I wont list them all…theres just something that’s been bothering me a bit for a while now.

Has anyone know what I mean when I say I sometimes get what I call a “commentary” in my head. Not like hearing voices that arent there, but my head will start making a conversation, or repeat what someone has just said…. Or plan a conversation im about to have. Even about silly things like a cup of tea and how it tastes…Its not like I hear this out loud, and its never anything horrible that upsets me…
Ive noticed it seems to be when im tired, like at night when im drifting off to sleep…but even now in the office when im not doing anything my mind feels all tired and starts doing this.

Im pretty scared of posting this because it sounds very strange, but I really hope to get some insight into this.

Thanks
Bubbly

It doesn't seem strange to me, because I've done it for as long as I can remember.
I even remember doing it as a little girl.
If I have to make a phone call I spend several minutes going over in my head what I'm going to say.
Even when I go to the store, if I think there's a chance that I'll have to ask the clerk a question, I'll sit in my car in the parking lot and go over what I might have to ask.
Even now when I'm writing this I'm going over in my head what I want to say and saying it to myself as I type it...but I think going over something your typing is pretty commom...even for people that don't have a panic disorder.

to bubbly, iuts probably obsessive compulsive disorder, OCD
this causes unwanted thoughts and is common with depression and anxiety, antidepressant meds often reduce it
books on overcoming OCD are helpful but some dont say much about the thoughts

HI Bubbly
I have done that forever I thought everybody did it. Like graciecat said I sometimes repeat over and over what I'm going to say when I have to talk to someone about something. Hope your doing okay other wise I always used to get a chuckle or two when you used to go on about the mansion. Take care JC

Hi guys...
thanks for the replies...

i know it sounds like the type of thing thats natural to everyone, but i know the difference between thinking something over and having random thoughts and words just come into your head...
I know a little about OCD...but i dont want to start thinking about yet another Mental illness!

Electric man, hello, nice to see you around

Take care, and thanks for the replies

Hi Bubblykins,

Sounds like classic anxiety symptoms to me..it's most likely not OCD.

I used to have times when my mind used to 'run away' with itself and chatter away quite happily for a while until I got my anxiety treated properly.

Hope you are having a good day - presumably your weather in London is as nice as here in Romford?

With lovingkindness as always

Your old friend with the 'gold lame'.

Hi Bubbly,

I've not been doing too bad since I finished with the Paxil. I've had a few ups and downs since but I've been able to cope.

I'm in the process of moving house house at the moment - I'm off to Dorset where my colleagues work. That has all been very stressful as my first buyer pulled out and it seems to be taking for ever for all the paperwork to go through. Almost there now I hope - if all goes well I'll be moving in about a month. I'll still be checking in here regularly to see you though!

How are things generally with you? Are you still working at the same place?

I've seen some old faces on and off here recently such as Simby, Niecsey, Ashlee. Hopefully they might stop by and say hi....

Lots of love

The Z
