View Full Version : Zoloft Question

OK, I have been on 100 mgs. of Zoloft since February. It had finally kicked in and was working very nicely. Then my gyn put me on hormones and then the pill. Both caused a lot of anxiety. But now I am all screwed up.

My ears are all blocked up and buzzing. I had upped my Zoloft to 125 mgs. I have been on it for 3 days and it seems that I have gotten worse.

At the end of February I had tried to go from 100 mgs. to 150 mgs. and the anxiety got worse. So that is when the doctor brought me back down to 100 mgs. and then put me on 20 mgs. of Inderal 2 x's per day.

He decided to try to up my dosage of Zoloft before he puts me on something else.

Is it normal to have a reaction for the first few days. Or is this just too high of a dose or maybe it just isn't working.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

the usual zoloft dose range is 100 to 200
yes, there can be side effects for a while after the dose is upped
ask a pharmacist about possible reactions with the new meds
zoloft a nd all antidepressants can need the dose upped after a while and can suddenly stop working completely also

I read somewhere that SSRI's can effect the BCP's potency. I noted that on a brief time on Prozac it messed up a hormones that had been in check for years on the pill. Certain hormones (estrogen? I think) can increase anxiety when it "surges" in. You may want to look into the hormone connection.
