HI, i posted along thread about raised hrt rate with ssri's.. the thing is is that all ssir's make my hrt race faster al day etc.. i am already about 80-90 beats on rest now... with the ssri's i am like iver 100 sometimes in the 200's, i took zoloft and it worked wonders for me mentally BUT it made my hrt race so fast doctor took me of it within a mnth... i want it back... i am going to the doctors tommorrow and am going to ask for it again.. BUT i want to hear from others if they have taking zoloft or any other ssri with a beta block such as proponol ? so i can print the page out and take it to my doctor urgent response plse...

beta blockers are often taken with SSRI's,proponal is an old one, newer ones may have fewer side effects
however another SSRI may suit you better and not cause the heart problem

beta blockers are still useful for reducing the effects of anxiety and panic on the body, heartbeat, shaking, sweating, etc

i suffer with obsessional thoughts, panick attacks just feeling weird ya know.. no other body parts are affected... sometimes my hrt may race if i am to into panick.. BUT i have learnt to calm down.. just that i cant help these racing thoughts and obsesional thoguhts, they are to dreadfull to list here.. and the foggy head and the parnoia etc.. i need zoloft back it worked wonders for me out of all the ssri;s i have ever taken that was the only medication that worked for me., BUT raised my hr rate to high 24/7 just wondering if i should ask for a beta blocka aswell.. need respones so i can print this pg and take it to my doctor tommorrow as i am in the uk. my doctor dont really know much about mental health and it will be a while till i get re refered to a phsyiciatrist..

I am on Zoloft and Propanolol. The combination was really great for me, until my gyn put me on hormones and then the pill. Now I am still trying to get myself back into control. But the Zoloft and Propanolol worked great together for me. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome which causes my anxiety. So it is good to have both meds.

How strange...I used to take Paxil with a small dose of Propranolol. I'm not sure the propranolol helped a lot though.
