Hi,
I was just wondering how many of you have chest pain along with your anxiety. I used to get chest pressure/pain off an on, but now I have it on a daily basis. It also extends into my left arm and to my back. It seems to get worse with exertion. My dr. still thinks this is all due to anxiety, but I'm seeing a cardiologist tomorrow to make sure. I was just wondering if anyone else gets this. Hilery

I do, it's sort of a pain, but I can feel it more as being stressed out and really sad and nervous all rolled into one. I know I have a lot of buried feelings and when I tried to get to it it made me almost vomit! Even when I ate some foods I felt chest pain.

I know your pain!! I experience chest pains quiet often. I am on Lexapro 10mg. It helps alot, but when I get upset or mad it still bothers me. So I just keep the stress level down and try to stay calm.
Good Luck!!

Thanks for your replys!
I've been taking Valium for my anxiety, but it only seems to help when I have full blown attacks. It doesn't help my daily symptoms (mainly chest pressure) at all. Maybe I can get my Dr. to let me try Lexepro or something else.
Thanks again

Oh can I relate to you or what - boy oh boy - when I suffered with anxiety (GAD) my primary initial symptom was chest pains and the feeling that I could not take a deep breath or was short of breath. Like you I was convinced that something was a miss with my heart - of course..it was not. I got over the feeling by totally and utterly accepting it....telling myself that it was not a sign of serious disease and was quite simply tense muscles and anxiety. After a while you stop bothered that it is there are all.....then you guessed it.....it goes away....its just the fear of it that makes it persist....anxiety to a t. You will get over this.....try not to worry......I am sure the cardio guy will put your mind at rest!!
