View Full Version : Anyone Feel Like This

Went one complete day without taking any xanax from 8:30 A.M. on unday to 9:00 A.M. on Monday. Had trouble sleeping, pulse rate was up, felt twitches in my leg at night. Used to taking 2 mgs a day. Took 1 1/2 hour ago, so hopefully I'll feel much better. Such an addictive drug...

Anyone else experience weight loss on the meds? Have gone from 156 ish to 147-148 without changing my eating habits that greatly. Have gone from drinking 6 beers a night to 1-2 & am drinking a lot more water as well. Thanks.

I'm no Doctor, but if you're trying to wean yourself off of the Xanax going from 2MG everyday to taking nothing for 24 hours is rather fast.
I weaned off of it...with my Doctor's help...but it was so long ago that I can't remember how long I stayed at each dose.
I know I was taking 1MG everyday, then went to 1/2 Mg. a day, the 1/4 MG, then 1/4 every other day, but like I said I can't remember how long I was at each dose.

I know Jennita has talked about the weaning process many times, maybe if she sees this she'll be able to give you a little more info on it than I can.

It was mistake to do things that fast, because I felt like junk this morning.

Hi Gracie, I almost didn't catch this. Gracie is right, cold turkey is a big no-no! The standard cutting schedule is 10% cuts every two weeks but it can be slower/faster depending on how one feels. If you want more details, there are alot of sites if you type benzo withdrawal. Also, the Ashton Manual is free online with alot of tips on tapering.

I didn't do it on purpose. My script was at work & just tried to get by one day without it (big mistake). Feel much better now, but don't want to rely on this stuff my entire life. I hate having to take anything & now I'm stuck.

Try to get the info on the internet and give it a shot. By detoxing yourself, you can go super slow if you need to. It's not a race. Take your time.
