View Full Version : How do you remember to take all your meds?

I put this on here because my anxiety is getting to me about taking all the meds I need.

I have (of course) anxiety meds Lexapro and Klonopin, Allegra, Birth control. I take some in the morning and some in the evening and I travel every week. With odd schedules. I also take the Birth control, Klonopin and Lexapro at night. So I am afraid to take them all at once. So trying to spread them out over the eveing causes me to forget too.

I get stressed when I forget. Does anyone have hints? My biggest problem is I travel and I am afraid to combine them.

Citykittie,

I too take my meds at different times. I take some in the am, but in the evening I take some with dinner, then some at 8:00 and then again at 9:00. It was just something I got used to.

My mom, however, has a little alarm clock. She sets it each time she takes her pills for the next set of pills. There are some watches that have alarms. The alarm clock that my mom has is about the size of a business card and very slim. Unfortunately, she hasn't been able to find another one similar to it to replace it.

Good luck!

I take 17 vitamins for breakfast. 3 vitamins 2x a day for snack and about 10 vitamins for lunch and dinner. I have a vitamin dispenser with compartments. You can get them anywhere. Every night I make a point to set up my vitamin dispenser for the next day. I have no problem remembering to take them. I carry it around with me at all times.

you can get a pill box with 7 compartments and fill it once a week, this then lets you know whether you have taken this days pills, so avoids missing a day and avoids double doses

I have one of those little compartment thingys. It actually has 4 slots for each day - morning, noon, evening, bed. I set it up at the beginning of the week. Each day can be taken out on its own so you can carry around a day at a time. This system has worked for me, and I forget everything.

You can pick them up at Walmart in the pharmacy area for about $4. Mine is lavender, but they have other colors too.

(BTW - you just reminded me to take my "evening" meds!)

Im always forgetting to take my morning meds. Im on 2000mg Keppra (split with two in morning and two at night) I also take zoloft, zanaflex and xanax. My pills wont fit into one of them thingys cuz they are horse pills (the keppra) and i havent located one of the jumbo ones. im supposed to take 2 keppra and 1 zanaflex in the morning...1 zanaflex in afternoon..zoloft at dinner and keppra and 2 zanaflex at night and xanax when needed. My problem is even if i had one of those things i would probably still forget because i have 4 small kids who get into everything and i have to keep all meds way high and out of even my normal reach and i just forget till around rest time for the kids when things slow down....keppra is for seizures and i will never get them under complete control if i keep forgetting to take them....so i guess id like some advice as well as how not to forget. Have a good day.

Didn't read all the posts, someone may have already suggested this. Get a one week pill container. There's room for every day of the week. Put all your pills you are supposed to take on any day into each day's space. Then if you forget you can check the day's space to see if the pill is still there or gone.
