I am trying to find out if constant lethergy and sleeping is normal three weeks after having a stroke. My grandmother had a stroke three weeks ago she has been sleeping (but not in a coma) most of the time. We don't think the cause is pharmacetical but we don't know what it is.

Michelle, I am usually really tired and exhasted for about 1-2 days after my strokes and sometimes really weak. I don't know what causes it. The best advice I can give is to get your grandmother up and out of bed. Play some cards with her, bake cookies, some light activites. Maybe some things that she enjoys. Give her some company(she may be feeling a little depressed). Do anything that you can think of to brighten her day. She will really appreciate it. If her health allows it take her for a walk. But be careful not to overdo her activety level too fast. Take it nice and slow, she will tell you what she is comfortable with, always plan acorrding to her health. :)
