My mother suffered a right brain stroke in August and remains paralyzed on her left side. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with acupuncture to regain use of the limbs. Thank you.

Hi Judy.

I had a right-brained stroke in March/2000.

Two months after the stroke. I spent approx $1100 on acupuncture. At the present time my left arm/hand is still paralyzed. The problem is one can never identify what it is that helps you along - for example, maybe it helped my leg??? Who knows? Maybe it was the physio????

Would I do it again - No I would not. I don't believe it's worth the money you have to pay for it. And it does hurt. Especially when they connect the needles to the electric current, and also when they put the needles in the head....

I saw an ad in the paper reharding the therapy and how they were successful with stroke patients, so I thought - why not? What have I got to lose?

Good luck if your mother decides to go ahead with it

Angie
