Hello, I am 29 years old and had a TIA on April 11th. I went to the emergency room and they did a Ct Scan and an EKG....found nothing, but my physical state diagnosed me as having a Mini-Stroke. My right peripheral vision is gone...after having an MRI a couple of weeks ago, my doctor confirmed that I was having an ongoing TIA as I had a severe migraine for a week after the initial stroke. My MRI showed a lesion on the left side of my brain, and I have been to several doctors and had several tests run since my stroke. I am being treated for severe anxiety and depression, things that is believed to lead to the cause of my stroke. My question is...Does anyone have this fear that you live with every day that you are going to have another stroke and next time it is going to be worse? I still have other areas that were affected by the stroke...weak right extremites, loss of concentration, my face feels weak ......I am sorry for carrying on, I am just scared. I am a single mom of three small children and I wake up in the middle of the night scared I am going to have another stroke. Please someone tell me...how do you cope? How do you carry on with your life without getting caught up in the fear?

Thank you...kimberly

Don't feel as though you are carrying on...speaking personally, at first I felt the same way. Talk to someone about it, your doctor, family, friends. It does help. I suppose the possibility is always there, but it doesn't help to dwell on it so hard that you live in fear..I try hard to keep those thoughts in the back of my mind, and go forward.
Besst of luck to you.

My very healthy 29 year old daughter had a stroke and her vision was also affected. All neurologists said it was from being on the depo-provara birth control shot...after every test in the world was done to see if there could have been any other cause. All birth control warn of strokes....(her occasional smoking did not help either.) She also was worried about another storke, but quit all birth control and never had another problem.
