If your boyfriend had minor pearly penile pearls, (very tiny skin or white colored bumps along the rim of his penis below the head) and it was your first time having sex together (safe sex), would you freak when you see it and stop seeing him and not have a relationship etc., or would you know that it is common in 31% of men, and that it is not contagious, not a disease, and stay? Whats your honest opinion on what you would do, and do some of you have boyfriends with pearly penile pearls?

Well Teenage dude I am your age and my first reply would be that's kind of gross. But if it was my boyfriend and its really as common as u say it is I wouldn't take such extreme actions and leave him. I'm sure your girlfriend's initial reaction is just a little dramatic, let's just hope she gets over that. Honestly I don't think that's a valid reason to breakup. :round:

Oh no, this is just a hypothetical situation. My girlfriend isn't ready to have sex for a while, and I respect that, although she doesn't know about pearly penile pearls (I hate that name). So thats not the reason why she doesn't want to, I guess her friends fill her mind with doubts and how it may hurt and stuff.

TeenageDude, at your age and her age she probably hasn't seen that many penises so she will probably think that's the way they're meant to look! And if she rejected you for that reason, then I'm afraid it would sound like she's not ready to have sexual relations, if she can't handle what the opposite sex looks like "warts" and all.

Well.. They're not warts, there just little skin colored bumps on the rim, not very visible when erect, but obviously I'd rather not have them, you know? When I questioned the Doc about treatment, he said, "Why?" ... Duhh.. I don't want them there, no matter how small they are. Basically they're not noticable unless you were to do a thorough examination. Also, on another post it stated that someone else had it and didn't have a lot of hair as the rest of his friends on his legs and face. I also don't have a full blown beard or very long hair on my legs, but I've past puberty and my beard is slowly coming in... lol. Just wondering if theres a pattern to the 31% who get PPP.

I didn't mean you have warts literally, I was just using that as a pun. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Has anyone (female) ever been with someone who had this? Or guys, were you uncomfortable or shy the first time you had sex (if you have PPP)?

how about, if she doesn't notice it, (which she might not,) don't mention it.
If she asks what they are be like "that's just the way I'm built, it's not a disease or anything"
You shouldn't have to launch into an inservice.

Overall, having them just makes me shy around females. There are plenty of ladies that I would have asked out if I weren't so damn shy because of it. I know its really nothing, and I'm very comfortable with my penis size and all (very comfy), but it just makes you shy in terms of revealing yourself in front of her.

Hey, TD17, I get the impression you don't quite know what "3P's" (Pearly Penile Papules) actually are.
Now it seems you know they are normal - you mention the doctor saying that 31% of men have them, or did you pick up that information somewhere else? But then you seem to think there is some potential debate on whether they are "desirable" or not.
I think there is a bit of a "hidden agenda" here. To explain, let me first ask you (ladies may do this too!) to go to the mirror with a bright light on it (or the sun behind you), and poke out your tongue as far as you possibly can, and look at the very back of it. What do you see? Have you noticed these bumps before? Some of them are really large with deep crevices between.
Now in case you didn't know before, these are called "taste buds", or groups of them. They are the collections of taste sensors that allow you to detect how sweet, sour, salty or bitter things (you eat) are.
Moving from there to your penis (as one does!), the Papules around the "corona", or rim of the glans (penile head) are in fact collections of sense organs, but these ones don't do taste, but rather are neat little sensors for sexual sensations.
At least that's what they are supposed to be, but they are usually only noticeable in intact men - that is, those who have been fortunate not to be circumcised, a practice which has been an American (and less so in other places) ritual over the last hundred years or so. Apparently, after circumcision, especially as an infant, they dry out and shrivel away.
I presume therefore that if you have them you are in fact, intact. Now, if you are, and in a society where most youths have had their foreskins chopped off (generally at birth), then you might be a little coy about that fact, much more so than whether you have this little "decorative fringe" which your girlfriend would be most unlikely to look for, should not be in a position to compare to anyone else, and if she has any amount of decent intelligence and education, would regard as an interesting and even attractive novelty. Anyway, do I happen to guess correctly on these details?
Further, are you aware that some condoms are made with similar, albeit somewhat larger "ticklers" on them. Now, I wonder where they might have got that idea?
