Hi there, i have a problem sorta.
Im on the birth control pill (ortho tri cyclen) and am very very faithful with taking my pill
BUT for the first time ever, (ive been on it for over a year) I missed a pill. It just so happened that i had sex that day and realised afterwards i hadnt taken my pill. This lead me to have to take 2 pills in one day.
We used a condom. So i kno the chances are pretty unlikely, but what are the chances that I could end up pregnant?
Thanks so much!!

There is always a little chance, but i would have to say I wouldn't worry about it. Its happened to me a few times. Plus you used a condom so the chance really decreases.

Condoms are typically over 95% effective. The main times when they fail are when the condom slips off, splits or rips. I'm sure you would have noticed if this was the case. Unless this happens, the efficacity of condoms is almost as good as the pill itself. Also, you'd have to be on the fertile period of your menstrual cycle in order to conceive. I wouldn't worry too much, although I don't think taking two pills in one day is really a great idea...

Kiltie, the two pills in one day will cause no harm. Matter of fact most inserts that come with BC pills say that you are to take the missed pill as soon as you remember even if it means taking two in the same day. So it is fine the way she did it.

Chances are pretty good that you're NOT pregnant. Being late taking a single pill is not likely to trigger ovulation. The fact that you used a condom makes it even less likely, really miniscule odds.
Read the little information booklet/sheet that comes with your birth control pills. It should have detailed instructions on what to do if you miss a day or more. You'll probably feel better after reading it.
