My wife is thinking about shaving some of her pubic hair, but seems to have one big reservation. She is worried about doctor visits and what might be said about it. I shave the hair on my penis, and occasionally scrotum, and have never had a Dr say a word about it.
Do any of you ladies have similar concerns, or has anything ever been mentioned about shaving from someone in the medical profession?

Tell her to think on this for just a few moments. DOCTORS SEE IT ALL,hence they have seen it in more ways than most of us can imagine. A doctor will not say anything about your wife shaving. Just like they dont say anything about it being trimmed or wild and bushy.
I have been shaving for over 7 years now and had various doctors over those years. Only one has said anything to me about shaving. The only reason he said anythingis I was having some unusual pain around my clitoris and he asked how long I have been shaving. When I said it had been for many years at that time he discarded the idea that the pain maybe from that and moved on with the exam.
So no her doctor wont say anything.

I often worried about the same thing, and no doctor has ever said anything to me, and I shave.
I've read numerous articles by gyn., a Q and A sort of interview, and over and over again, they say they don't care if they notice at all.
It's completely understandable to be freaked out about, I'm sure it'll be fine.

I always shave the day I go to the doctor. I went today and all I have is a small triangle. That's not supposed to be what they are looking at or for anyway! If she wants to I say go for it!

Thanks for your responses. I was somewhat surprised this weekend to find that my wife had shaved all but a nicely groomed triangle on her mons. She told me she had read your responses and decided to give it a try, and we both agreed oral sex was great without the hair . What surprised me most is that she has her yearly checkup on Wed. When I asked her about it she responded that now was as good a time as ever to find out what the Dr might say.
Thanks again
Thanks again

I go to the doctors shaved or not shaved all the time. He doesn't say anything. I had one doctor say he didn't even notice those things. They are more concerned with what is going on with your insides at that point. much love Sunnie

I in fact think it is totally inappropriate for a doctor to say anything about what you decide to do with your pubic hair, unless it could be related to a health problem such as what one of the posters said above. That's why they don't say anything. It is absolutely none of their business what you do with your pubic hair. The doctor's job is to take care of your health only and not make comments or judgements about anything else.

Her doctor isn't going to say anything, unless he's an ass! Doctors have seen everything! I've never been worried about it and I don't think she has to be! The only thing my doctor has ever said was "Nice Tattoo!" Again, doctors have seen EVERYTHING! Nothing is gonna surprise him/her, go as you feel comfortable!

Hezza, you tattoo comment got me to laughing. I know how that goes oh so well. With my first son during labor I had nurses in and out of my room like crazy. They were coming in to ask if they could see my tattoos. At that time I had 7 and the first nurse who had helped me get settled had seen them. She had told others on the staff about them. It was a nice way to keep my mind busy as labor progressed. Also I have an insane fear of hospitals so that was a nice way to keep calm.
It was kind of strange because with my second son I didnt have that happen...different hospital and state,so that might explain it.

I had to get some tests done at the hospital and the urologist asked me when I got my tattoo! He proceeded to ask me if it hurt and it seemed like an appropriate time to say "not as much as what you're doing!"
;) im such a kidder lol

I personally wouldnt go to gyno without at least trimed. I just dont like to be hairy down there and more if someone is going to look at it.
I did knew of a friend of mine where the gyno told her to next visit trim her pubic hair. She felt so embarrased she never went to that doctor ever again. I wouldnt neither!

Looks like she was worried about nothing. The Dr did mention it, but in such a manner that she was not at all uncomfortable about it,,"Is there a particular reason as to why you have shaved your pubic hair, or is it just a personal preference?" When she responded "personal preference", he nodded his head, said okay, and moved on with the exam.
For my wife, thanks to all who responded.
