Ok I hope this is the right board for this and I hope someone can answer my question! I get this brownish reddish vaginal discharge sometimes and I have no clue what it is. I don't have any itching and there is no oder. I'm 17 years old and have never been sexually active and went to the gyno for the first time last summer, before I started getting this discharge. I notice that it comes about two weeks before my period. The discharge almost looks like blood, but its not as heavy as my period and parts of it are too brown. It always goes away. Does anyone have any clue as to what this could be?!!?

I get it too--I was told it's like a precursor to your period. Like it's starting & then your body changes it's mind.

if it's happening mid cycle, it's almost definately ovulatory spotting. good sign of fertility. you should read "taking charge of your fertility" by toni weschler. it'll tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the female body...and then some.

If it's a timed-thing and not something you notice on-and-off randomly or ALL THE FREAKIN TIME it is probably just totally normal, but I'd still bring it up to your Gyno on your next visit if I were you.

That stuff got on my sheets the last time I was with my lady. I supected it was close to her time of the month, eary jan., and now I know what it was, cool, thanks.

I've heard the brownish red stuff is old blood that was left after your last period. I get that too sometimes.
