Knee Swelling - Arthritis Message Board

Does anyone with RA experience swelling behind the knees? I have noticed this the last few months. My rheumy didn't think anything out of the ordinary, but I have read some things about Baker's Cysts being common in RA. Just wondering. The tops/front of my knees don't bother me too much anymore, but the back of my one knee gets so stiff sometimes. I hope it goes away with the meds!!!

I have the same problem that you do and my Remu. said that it wasn't R.A. also. It has to be a water bubble like I have on my ankles, and the sides of my feet. I have Osteo. in my knees that is what he said and there was nothing to do about that in the back of my legs and maybe associated with my Fibro. instead. Anyway mine is swollen like a big stretched balloon on the backside of my knees. To me mine feels like a cyst. Check with him again and let me know what you find out.
