Question..... my mom has suffered from back pain for several years now. 2 years ago she went through a whole slew of tests, x-rays, bloodwork, MRIs, etc and they found nothing wrong. However, knowing that RA could be Sero-Negative, it might be possible that she has lumbar arthritis. (I know she has a degenerative disk disorder in her neck.)
She says that when she lays down, she cant lay flat on her back or flat on her stomach, she always has to have her legs bent. She cant lay on the floor and prop herself up on her elbows, or she wont be able to get back up. She says she sometimes feels a burning and has to adjust her position when sitting or standing too long. She says that sometimes she feels like she cant sit up straight enough because when she slouches, it hurts.
Does any of this sound like lumbar arthritis to any of you who have it? I am urging her to see a rheumatologist, but in the meantime she's making an appointment with a chiropractor.
What do you all think? Any thoughts would be welcomed.
Thanks!
Meg
