Vioxx vs. Celebrex vs. Bextra

Vioxx has caused my blood pressure to elevate, and causes me to swell. I'm thinking of switching to Celebrex or Bextra. Do you know if they cause the same side-effects.

Bextra helps me a lot too without raising my BP.

Thumbs up Re: Vioxx vs. Celebrex vs. Bextra

Count me as another Bextra user. Mine are the 20 mg. and they help me lots better than Celebrex did. FYI: Bextra is also good for menstrual cramps.

Im another believe in Bextra. Its a slightly newer drug than Celebrex and Vioxx and it seems to be more "refined" to what its supposed to do without the added side effects. Its also fairly fast-acting. Good luck!

Re: Vioxx vs. Celebrex vs. Bextra

I think they are in the same family of non steroidal anti inflammatory's, so if you think its the Vioxx causing your troubles, I'm not sure how going to the other, in the same family would change things unless the swelling and blood pressure is being caused by something else. If you take other medications, check with your pharmacist for drug interactions and ask him about this medications side affects. There is a natural supplement combination that acts as a cox2 inhibitor (like Celebrex) and the pharmacist could talk to you about that as well. There is a lot of red tape with the Celebrex (gotta love the HMO) so, I'm going this route when I run out.
