I wanted to know if anyone has had a second round of synvisc. The first 3 injections worked after 6 weeks but the relief is wearing off. I have put off going to the doc. because the injections were so painful

I had just 3 injections and they never provided relief, however they did make the pain worse after about 4wks. I would not recommend it for anyone.

I've done alot of research on this one and from what I"m seeing its a 50/50 chance that it works. I am a candidate for one but refuse to do it, I'm also a chicken when it comes to large needles in small places.

Something I have been trying now that has been recommened by the Arthritis Organization in a recent issue of their magazine is 1200 mg of Vitamin C. According to some studies they did it actually reduced the degeneration time of the knee by 50%.
You might be able to find that same info on their web site. I figured since it is passed through the system and not stored it certainly can't hurt to try.

I have had "2 different sets" of Synvisc in my knee, but the first "set of shots" helped but NO relief with the "second set of shots". I had the second set about a year after the first set. I thought the shots were sometimes painful and even if they were'nt, I would get so upset and anxious about getting the shot in the knee that it nearly made me sick.
