| | Neck sounds
Over the last year, my neck has started making crackling sounds. It goes right up my neck and up the back of my head. No matter which way I turn it, it crackles. There is no pain. My chiropractor took x-rays and said no arthritis present. I had another doctor take x-rays and said no arthritis. I don't have much of a curve in my neck. I was told that I might have extra motion in my neck, gas bubbles, or extra calcium. I thought crackling meant crepitus/arthritis. What is going on with my neck? My husband says his does the same thing and everyone has it. Recently I started a splint for my tmj and now my neck makes more noises. I am in my late 40's. I do have some slight herniation in my neck from an auto accident years ago but I haven't had pain in over 8 years. I did start more frequent chiropractic this past year, but, they keep saying how great I'm doing and I have no pain. Should I be concerned?
