weather change - fingers hurt
I am 30 - Last October - January my fingers hurt and then it just stopped and I forgot about it. Last week the minute the temps dropped from the 80's to 50's (I live in TX) my fingers INSTANTLY began to hurt. Only on one hand between my finger joints. Sometimes the pain seems to shoot up my arm to my elbow. Also if I limit my computer use the hand doesn't seem to hurt at all.
I feel better if I take tons of advil. Should I see a doctor for this? How serious could this be if it only happens when its cold? Do you think he'd just tell me to take Advil too? I don't have alot of $ for a doctor visit.

Hi there! I get the same thing, only it gets much colder here in Chicago. It's like my hands stiffen up. I ALWAYS wear fleece gloves. I never let my hands get to the cold air. It keeps my hands very warm, too warm sometimes, but the symptoms seem to subside. I've never seen a doctor about it, because it's not severe, but a friend that's a nurse told me to do that and it helps.
About the Advil, I wouldn't take too much. I know someone that got kidney stones from taking too much ibuprofen. If you have to take it for the pain, I'd drink lots of cranberry juice as well, just to be safe.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
