| huricanes and RA
I just lived through Huricane Charley, what I mean is Charley hit just north of where I live, we just got the edge of it, but the swelling, pain, and itching I went through was worse then if I had lost my home like my friends did. On Thursday my hands started to swell to the point I couldn't bend my fingers, and I started getting hot spots all over my body that not only hurt but also itched like I had been bitten by thousands of mosquitos, every joint in my body screamed when I moved. Friday Charley hit 40 miles north of my home and as it moved north some of the swelling went down. It is now Sunday and I still have hot spots in a few areas and I am walking better but I am still in a lot of pain.
My RA Dr. has me taking Minocin and Mobic for my RA but I don't think it is helping. It did nothing during the Huricane. I really don't think he knows what he is doing.
I am a single parent and my kids where with me during the Huricane. I really feel bad because my 12 and 10 yr olds had to take care of me and it should have been the other way around.
Anyone with RA and a Huricane coming toward them RUN (or Fly) away.........
Thanks for letting me vent.
Trish
