Exclamation Blood Results back...need help analyzing...

I received another round of blood results back today and my rheumy says that I had something called P ANKA come back positive. Not sure exactly what this is. Anyone ever heard of this or know what it is? He said it can show positive in a few different types of autoimmune disorders, such as vascularitis, systematic rheumatic lupus and some others. It is definately an abnormal factor. What exactly does having a POSITIVE "P ANKA" mean? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
South

Re: Blood Results back...need help analyzing...

Could he possibly have said P-ANCA? I've never heard of P-ANKA before.

Re: Blood Results back...need help analyzing...

Someone else could better answer this but I had heard that it was usually positive for systemic vasculitis.

Re: Blood Results back...need help analyzing...

It is usually positive if you have vasculitis and/or glomerulonephritis. Your doctor will be the best source of additional information.
