Is a heriditary fused vertabrae in cervical spine Ankylosing Spondylitis??
Following a visit with neck/head/shoulder pain to a chiropractor in 2001 he told me upon checking the X-Rays that I had a fused vertrabrae in my Cervical Spine (neck). Genetic, my mother has it as well.
I also had this investigated a couple of years back with my GP who had an X-Ray done to confirm the same. I was given Mobic and Amitriptiline for the pain and I assume inflammation.
My sister who has been complaining of similar symptoms has recently been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Am I right to assume that this is what I have officially as well, only with my doctor explaining my condition in layman's terms?
I've determined that Ankylosing basically means 'fusing' and Spondylitis 'inflammation'
