Question fingers curling up and other Joint Problems

hello,

I'm 17 years old and been having Joint pain for 6 months now. I got moderate pain and stiffness in my finger joints, Knees, Toes, Neck, Back and Shoulders with no real swelling. I have been to the doctor a number of times about two months ago I got blood tests done which include CBC, sed rate, CRP, ANA, Rheumatoid factor and every came back normal because of this the doctor stamped me with the good old 'stress is the cause of the pain' label.

What got me really worried is that every once in a while my finger joints becomes really stiff and will curl up into a hook like shape in partically my two little fingers. With effort I can straighten them except for my little fingers that just pop back up into a hook as soon as I straight them.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Is it possible to have RA starting out with normal blood levels? Does anyone else have this problem with their fingers curl into hooks?

Re: fingers curling up and other Joint Problems

Don't worry, you're not the only one. My fingers are terribly crooked and they curl in akward ways. I have not been diagnosed with RA as of yet, though I do have a doctor's appointment on Monday.

Re: fingers curling up and other Joint Problems

my pinky finger curls down now all the time and the doc said it was the ulnar nerve that was being compressed. i heard that compressed nerves can cause serious problems after long term. i fear mine will cause problems later on down the road if it's not taken care of.

i wonder if this is completely true. hopefully it would take a long time before damage occurs.
