Pscoriatic Arthritis ????consultant thinks possibly psoriatic arthritis, carpal tunnel, some osteo....
all blood tests negative, have had a number of symtoms which i have not thought related(still unsure)also slight bending of fingers, and bunion type things!unfortunatley my inflammation has not been present when seeing doc,or consultant(only been once so far)i dont seem to have the text book symptoms for psoriatic, but seem to have a selection of all!i am so frustrated with the lack of support, also one symptom i have is red almost bands which are very hot ,which i have had across middle of my back and both forearms but only once or twice on knees and hands, any ideas would be a great help....

Re: new to site .wrong diagnosis?

Blood tests can be misleading. I was treated, for 3 years, for Rheumatoid Arthritis, based on a high RH reading in my blood test and the usual physical signs. Haven't had RH show up in any tests since and it was determined,
5 years ago, that, along with a couple of other forms of arthritis, I have
fibromyalgia, not RH.

Your fingers seem consistent with osteo, which I also have, but although I've been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, too, it's very mild and frankly, inconsequential when compared with the other forms on my 'list'.

You don't say when the blood tests were done, but if it's been a couple of months, it couldn't hurt to have it checked again.

As there are so many forms of arthritis/lupus, I hope you're seeing an Arthritis Specialist. If not, have your doctor refer you to a good one.

Good luck,

K

Re: new to site .wrong diagnosis?

thankyou for your reply, have had a some brand new symptoms this week, all my muscles surrounding problem joints,(elbows, knees, shoulders, feet, and hands)have come up all spongy and swollen and hands are so painful its difficult to sleep,i had blood tests done aboyt 5/6 weeeks ago,but think you may be right about doing them again as i presume this new symptom is inflammation?! and had been tested for that which was negative back then.Have also been sacked from my job this week(unfairly) so a tad miserable, thanks again for your help.P.S Fibro is something that was mentioned with me also but i have read you are supposed to have definate tender spots which i do not more of a deep pain all over joints and surrounsing areas.
