Arthritis in neck ? - Arthritis Message Board

Hi. Has anyone ever experienced this

? It has been about a month now and i have this bad pain on the side of my neck It is on and off expecially when sitting on the computer for a while, ect... I stretch all of the time, used heat pads, hot showers and even asprin cream. Maybe i did some damage ? I do have an autoimmune condition ( connective tissue disease ) nothing spicific. I am on Prednisone, Mtx, Plaquinil and celebrex too. Hmmmmmm... anyone know anything ? Is neck arthritis common ? I do have an appt. on monday. Thanks !!

Very common, both autoimmune arthritis and osteo can affect the neck. In the case of osteo arthritis it's usually called DDD or DJD.

Since you're on two anti inflammitories and still feel pain there, maybe you did just pull a muscle or have a pinched nerve? Doesn't hurt to have the area checked out though, you could have something there that hasn't been x-rayed or noticed yet.
