Hi guys I just noticed all of my nails have indents or bumps on them. This is right above the half moon. I read that this can be a sign of arthritis. As some of you know I have been searching for answers to my migratory joint pain and extreme joint popping.
Hi,
Don't have it myself but my friend has very severe RA and she has indented nail beds and has a positive RA factor. Her case is severe and I got her to go to my rheumy who is very good. I was wondering if you have a lot of joint pain has anyone considered you might have RA, I have a negative RA factor but my CRP and sed rates were very high when I was first diagnosed and all my joints have been inflamed and swollen except maybe for my ankles. just a thought and hope you get some answers!!

Thanks Donna! I have had my RA and sed checked, all okay also no swelling. The hunt continues. Think my dr may want to test me for endocon. ( an infection of the heart) guess it cause joint pain, fatigue and spots on the hands along w issues w nail bed. I am betting this could all be releated to possible colitis however.
Vertical ridges can indicate iron deficiency, malabsorption, overall poor health or even kidney problems. A pale nail bed also indicates iron deficiency. White spots on the nail show zinc deficiency.
Horizontal ridges are a sign of physical and mental stress.
Round indentations, bubble/bumps? Like pitting? That sounds like nail psoriasis. Do you have dry skin generally? If so, with your arthritic symptoms, you might want to look up Psoriatic Arthritis.
Ridges /\/\/\/\ that grow horizontally across the nail can seem, to the touch, to be individual "pockets" or indentations.

Yes its odd, it is horizotal. They are not really circular in appearance. They almost look like waves in my nails like half the nail can be indented and the other half raised This is on every nail and just appeared within the week?
