My guess would be a rhuematologist. They deal with all kinds of arthritis and bone problems.

Actually just a regular Ortho Dr if you have any problems with your joints and if you don't have any serious problems, than just your GP.
RA Doctors as I was explained is for auto-immune diseases, for inflammation in your body, like: RA, Lupus, PA and so on.
Usually you go to your GP and if she thinks you have problems with your joints, they send you to Ortho; Usually they have Ortho Drs specializing in specific parts of the body: Knee Ortho, Spinal Ortho, arms/hands, feet/leg and so on.

Best of luck to you and feel better!

Re: what kind of doctor do I see for oseoarthritis?

I'd go with a rheumatologist too. they are the medical side of orthopedics. Orthopedists are surgeons and like to cut. Rheumatologists are medical docs who manage your arthritis until or if you need surgery. You don't have to have an inflammatory disease to see them. Osteoarthritis can do a lot of damage just on it's own and needs good management. I have both OA and RA and the OA damage is much greater than the RA damage.

gentle hugs............Jenny

Re: what kind of doctor do I see for oseoarthritis?

I asked my family doctor if she could recommend someone to take a look at my arthritis because I was concerned about it getting more and more deformed and she sent me to a Rheumatologist. You probably can just call a Rheumatologist for an appointment, but I wasn't sure if my insurance would cover seeing a specialist without a referral. As it turned out, I could have called and made the appointment myself, I had the coverage. After several years of seeing the same Rheumatologist, I called on my own and made an appointment to see a different one.
